About

Studio Program

Supporting New York City's artist community.

Passionate about supporting local artists.  Sugar Hill Capital Partners founded the Studio Program in 2013 as a social impact initiative that supports New York City’s artist community. The Studio Program converts unutilized multi-family building area into affordable art studios. This initiative provides local artists the ability to both work, live and create in their local communities. In addition, the Studio Program facilitates interaction between its members and alumni, dealers, collectors, critics and curators to gain public and critical exposure to further their career development. Sugar Hill Capital Partners maintains artist studios of varying sizes and configurations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, providing artists with the rare opportunity to work in a professional arts community inside New York City.

Preserving the artist community within our neighborhoods. To become a member of the Studio Program, entrants must be either a recent art school graduate or a professional artist with an emerging studio practice and reside within a 30 block radius of our available art studios. Since studio availability is limited, artists must complete the application and be accepted via a selection process in order to be considered for space. Once accepted, each member must complete a profile, designating their desired studio location, size, and budget. Members are offered available private or co-working studios that suit their member profiles, on a first come first serve basis.

Membership Overview

The Studio Program offers four distinct options for memberships to help fulfill your dreams.

Three year membership.

The Rock Star membership is obtained via our competitive selection process. Any chosen local established artist with a studio practice can have a fully-subsidized studio space for one year with membership fees waived in-lieu of artwork exchanges. Each studio features a gallery wall to display your work.  Near the end of the one-year term, artists may apply to renew for an additional year.
